Question Regarding Diablo Predator U7191 Merry Christmas Everyone!
Just a quick question for those who have or know about the Diablo Predator U7191. I have a 2005 GXP and once again (as most other performance products i've found) they don't include the '05 model year and always start at '06 and up. Now it says its compatable with '06 LS4's but doesnt mention anything about the '05, however it says it will work if the 8th VIN digit is C, which my '05 is. Just wondering if anyone out there can clear this up before i drop around $300 on one and find out it wont work on my '05.
Also, I contacted Trifecta Performance and they said they have a tune thats compatable with the '05 even-though their website lists the first compatable model year at '06.

I think it works....ask Compg on here. I know for sure he has an 05 GXP and IIRC he's Diablo-tuned. If not just get HP Tuners and be better than Diablo because you have TCM support.
Trifecta has a compatible tune because they use HPT as well. HPT is harder to catch the learning curve but once you understand the basics, the possibilities are endless.

The Diablo will NOT work for an 05. I made the mistake of ordering one and it didn't work. I sold it to someone who had an 06 and it worked fine. The 05's have a 16 bit PCM and 06 and up is a 32 bit PCM if I am not mistaken.
Trifecta and HP Tuners WILL work for the 05.

yup, no worky worky for an 05...
it's not so much that the motors are the same "C" digit in the VIN, but it's the ECM's that are different between the model years, so that's why it won't work...
just like for my 06 Monte SS... the 7191 will not work on an 07 Monte SS - even tho the cars are identical, GM changed the ECM's between the model years again...
