right... but he's saying he has it pointing down... yet, in his picture he posted, that tab looks like it's pointing up already... so if it's supposed to be pointing up like that as mentioned, then he should be fine...

yes/no ???

I think what he is talking about it the small round silicon rubber gasket that comes with the TBS. I had to install it myself on mine. There is a small teardrop valley the silicon gasket goes into. The tip of the teardrop points towards the sky so the brass airtube coming off the TB can get air. The green gasket stays where it is. You'll see a small tip on that too. Mimic it with the rubber silicon gasket that comes with the TBS. This gasket butts up against the TB and the green gasket butts up against the TBS. I hope this helps.

That TBS is definitely installed upside down.
The flat side should face up aligning the offset part of the gasket
w/ the little port above the throttle body opening.

SeweRat, after a few months are you still happy with this TBS? Still no whistle?

Thanks

I'd have to say I'm not super impressed with mine. The whistle is kind of neat but aside from that I saw minimal gains from it. It wasn't a bad install but enough that the $100 I spent on it is not worth tearing it all out to get it back, so I guess I'll keep it. The only real gain is midway through 2nd gear it tends to bury a little faster, other than that I can't tell a difference.

put in the airaid one today yuck the noise is horrible sounds like a slipping belt my 0-60 stayed about the same a little slower im thinking because the car was hotter than last time im going to take it out today and take the dremel tool to it to get rid of the grooves and to match the inside diameter better to the tb and manifold

Paul, did you get that 0-60 with the DH? 'Cause it can be really off, it said 4.7 sec on my 5.1 sec run. I video and time most of them. Lost most of my videos, though... My personal best is 5 flat.

yeah its a dashhawk time 4.93 was my best attempt but i can usually hit about 5-5.2 with a good launch . with some wheelspin i can usually hit between 5.5 and 6. really its alli got to gauge by... i figure a WRX can hit 60 in like 4.7 with their little turbo 4 its not too far out to think with good launch we can get in the ballpark...

That little turbo 4 is also AWD, though, and a lot lighter, not to mention better gearing, one more, TURBO makes the biggest differnce. A six-speed and a diet and the GXP would be deep in the 4s

yeah if we could only be so lucky a diet is next! i have been in the market for some used kirkeys for a while now i have never taken the seats out of these things but if they weigh anything close to the seats i have to take out of the van all of the time i think its an easy 80lbs to lose...

sorry thats a different thread though back to the spacer right?

What will this really do? Has anyone been on a dyno to see improved HP/TQ numbers or is it just another one of those parts in which they are not really made for the LS4 but fit and look cool?

Sorry but I am still new to this mod thing and I am trying to get all the parts I can for this car.

I haven't seen anything worthwhile from mine. It sounds cool and they give you a neat sticker for $100....that's about it. I have one on my 07 Imp SS and my buddy has one on his MC SS and neither of us have gained anything but a neat whistling sound.

If you guys really want a 6 speed tranny then just fab up an adapter plate and bolt a 6 speed from the G6 GXP's....someone did this in a Fiero swap somewhere on the net...I think it was the LS7 swap...might have been an LS4 swap though...Check out the GM specs for the 6T75 6-speed automatic transmission holds up to 315 hp and 300lb/ft of torque...strengthen that sucker up a bit and away you go with a 6 speed...

I finally put the TBS on today and really did not feel a difference.... It still feels slow.
