I was going to ask the same thing but with the way weather has been all over the US pretty easy to assume he's under 10 foot of snow up in canada right now :<

I did acquire a Ls1 intake manifold for pretty damn cheap so I'm going to try it but considering I'm not using dod/afm I'm taking a little bit of a different approach. With all the trouble hes having trying to modify the stock valley cover I was thinking about ordering a ls2 valley cover but I'd still have to remove and plug up the oil sending unit nub, I'm going to just create one myself. Once that's done I'll address the issues of the differences between the ls4 intake and ls1 intake. Pending how well everything goes I'll then blow the money for a ls6 or depending on how much I can change out swap to a ls2 intake, I'm just not sure if our stock headers can flow that much for ls2.

Yeah, it's been sitting on a shelf for 6 months because I'm pre-occupied with other things. The existing seals look a bit beat up, so I need to order a new set before bolting it on.

I still have to get in for a "before" dyno run to establish a baseline.

Other than that, it's been -20*C and slippery more or less constantly since the beginning of December, which kind of makes tuning a pain....

New intake from Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT, this is almost an option.

That thing is huge...reminds me of the LT1 intakes...

Now, go buy it, fit onto your LS4 and get a new side cowl hood....hmmm

Damn transverse engine mount.....

Think when the economy picks up again the parts cos will throw us a bone?

Don't we have a little more room under the hood though? Since V6 GP's will clear the supercharger and intercooler. I was wondering if any of the other available sheet metal intakes for LS motors woul clear that oil plug and clear the stock hood.

I believe the V6 has a different degree of slant of the V, if that makes since. Meaning it will allow the intake to sit lower?

The 3800 is a 90 degree vs our LS4 being 60 degree, I think? I'm sleep deprived from this whole week so my thinking is a tad cloudy right now lol

Well the 3100 and the 3400, and the 3800's were all 60 degree V6's...Since the LS4 is based off an LS2 block, i would guess the LS4 is a traditional 90 degree V8.

doubt it unless you want to make a taller hood or drop the cradle and/or mounts some.

where does it say that will even line up.. Most people don't even think of a ls4 when thinking of the LsX family. in the other thread it said that it may come in different sizes for different engines.

If it will bolt on LS1 or a LS2 than it will bolt onto a LS4. The reason I said it was almost an option is because it is so damn tall. But looking under the hood this morning I think it would be pretty damn close.

it would be on "backwards" but the oil pressure sender probably isnt in the way with that tall of a setup. only other things would be vacuum lines, map sensor, etc. throttle body and air intake setup might have to be changed as well. i would assume this thing accepts a ls2/ls7 so a wiring harness adapter needs to be made for that to work. i made one up but havent tested it cause im spending money on the truck now.
