Default Top speed...

So I'm bored at work...so I'll ask, who's had enough private empty open road to let their beast run deep or to the top of 3rd gear? I've seen the GXP fly by on youtube going 154 but I couldn't quite tell what the RPM's where. Yes, we all know about the risks, dangers, stupid, risk to others/yourself so we can save those comments

it doesn't matter how fast you can go, its how quick you get there.

I’ve had her around 130 and ran out of road. I’ve been kicking around the idea of the Silver State Classic. http://www.silverstateclassic.com/flatout.htm First timers are limited to 110 class but it would still be fun as hell.

I have had mine up to the limiter; 140 mph. A bit scary at that point.

i had an m3 that i took to 170, it had the limiter removed, that was a little scary but i think that 140 is really calm in the gxp. i am a lot more comfortable at those speeds in my gxp than in my m3 or my dumdumdumdumdum

Had the SS up to 125 once. Don't feel comfortable at high speeds myself, nor do I feel like dealing with the consequences. I rarely go over 85.

I will second that. I had mine up to 138 and it felt real smooth. Only lifted because something in my gut told me to. It was a good thing that I listened to that gut feeling because about 30 seconds after getting it back down to the speed limit I crested a rise in the road and saw a state trooper sitting in the median.

On I-10 between Crestview and Pensacola (in the panhandle of florida) theres a 1.5 to 2 mile stretch of straightaway I got my 'pala up to 164 MPH. I only know this because a buddy of mine was on his crotch rocket right next to me and he told me later. No we weren't racing he actually slowed down to get beside me and then after I hit 164ish he gunned it and pretty much dissappeared. It was smooth and a little hairy the car had a floating feeling much like an old caddy with bad shocks. I don't know what my RPMS were at and I did have my A/C on (I don't know if that makes a difference). It was fun but the little angel on my shoulder told me to slow the f*ck down.

I've been up past 120 and the car lowered with new struts, SSC springs, STBs, lateral bars, it feels really stable. I like the way my car sits down. I was 100+ in my friends audi A4 and didnt feel safe at all.

I topped out 5th when I had my SS a couple years ago, speedo only went to 155 so I couldn't tell, but 6k in 5th with stock gears/tire size is about 170. I had a reaaall empty highway for that one.
