2008 Impala SS LS4 True Cold Air / Ram Air Induction System

Why would a dyno show ANY valid results for this mod? With your car sitting on a Dyno, there is no air being forced into the intake as there would be in normal driving conditions.
I agree with the lot of you that this looks like it wont do much for performance, but I never really understood why people tune their cars on a Dyno, when doing so eliminates a huge factor that is part of everyday driving.

I'd be concerned about hydrolock in the rain and snow, too, but the design is intriguing.
The long length of the piping isn't a performance issue so long as the filter has enough surface area to allow adequate airflow to the engine. The mandrel bends maintain the diameter of the piping, so there won't be much added restriction from that, either.
I wouldn't be so quick to **** on this guy's design until we see some hard dyno numbers.

No, they didn't. But several GM factory units are direct bolt-ins (with a few minor wiring mods), so I used the one out of my old 2007 Tahoe. I posted a "how-to" thread on here a couple of months ago.

Excellent design and looks great. This should have some nice bump in power at higher speeds. I'd love to get or do this, but living in South Florida we see a ton of rain and lots of extreme puddles.

You get an A for effort but I'm gonna have to go with NACHO. People have been doing this with my style GP for years. The bends + small diameter out weigh any cold air benefit this will give you. Besides with a HAI at high speeds I see only 5-10 degrees above ambient temp anyway.
