I normally don't rush it, but I don't worry about every last drop. I was doing brakes last time I did the oil, so when I got it jacked up & leveled, I drained the pan and started the front brakes. After about 1/2 hour I plugged it back up and refilled it.

What kills me is that less than a month before the change, I had to put in a qt of oil since it was very low. That brought it up to the top of the indicator on the dipstick. When I drained the pan & filter a month later, I was able to fit it all back inside a 5-qt jug. I'm beginning to wonder if the dipstick is not the right length or something, and if I'm running on too little oil. Car says 6-qt capacity, but some others have said that it takes them 6.5 to fill it up.
