Night at the track Went to a 1/8 mile track tonight (no 1/4 mile tracks in my area) and I guess I'm pretty pleased with how the GXP ran! I beat a Lt1 ram air trans am twice and it bet me once when I slept at the light, beat a 02 or so Mustang GT and a couple fox body gt's. I also beat an older model nova and monte carlo and got beat by a couple modded camaros. There was a white G8 Gt there with some type of exhaust on it, I begged the guy to race me but he wouldn't, it made 5 or 6 passes with 2 different drivers and the quickest time being a 9.40 et and it only got that once the rest of the time it was running 9.60's. Even though I didn't get to make a pass beside it I think my 5.3 made that 6.0 G8 Gt look bad.

1/8th mile with a G8 GT should be a pretty close race. I am fairly close to stock and had a WOT run with one from about 10 to 60 MPH. Obviously I was traction limited at that speed, but I think he was too. Our first gear (in my admittedly limited sample of one race) will pull on them pretty well. I would say I gained 1/4 car length during that time, once I hit second, well.....we all own one and know they fall flat on their face. I left off at 60 and he did shortly after that. In the 1/8th, I believe it would be a driver's race with us having a slight advantage, but by the end of the quarter, they would have reeled us in and left us behind.

A properly driven G8 will beat our LS4 cars from any speed. We don't have any advantages against them really, my brother has a G8GT and he gives me a half car and lets me punch it first and still passes me relatively easily. We're planning on running at Ennis tonight if weather permits. Hopefully I can git a 14.0 or so.
