hogan DP Just have a question for all the ppl that have got the hogan dp with the highflowng cat (DP7S). i have the magnaflow catback and i was just seein if i could get some input on whether its worth it or not. any info is appreciated. thx.
I had mine installed last week and prior to I had the Magnaflow alone on there for some time. I'm on vacation now but the couple times I got to drive it after having the DP installed i was pleased and felt it was worth the money. There was a noticeable difference in how it drove and how it felt....the exhaust system seemed smoother, this is obvious but you can feel the difference. I cant wait to get home and test it out some more at highway speeds.

Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
The catalytic converter has an oxygen sensor in front and behind it. When the vehicle is warm and running in closed loop mode, the upstream oxygen sensor waveform reading should fluctuate. The downstream O2 sensor reading should be fairly steady. Typically the P0420 code triggers the Check Engine Light if the readings of the two sensors are similar. This is indicative of (among other things) a converter that is not working as efficiently as it should be (according to specs). It is part of the vehicle emissions system.

Verdad Gallardo I wont hurt the car if the code is on, If you know anyone that has HP tuners they can delete it for you but it will cost them 2 credits or you can buy a tuner.

Not everyone got the code.
If you are changing anything that changes air in air out get it tuned for max performance. Why spend time and money if you are not going to do it right!
Your car ALREADY has a HIGH FLOWING CAT direct from the factory.
IM THROWING CODES TOO!! well i have a Hogan DP7S as well built in modular form...I can bolt on a race pipe...go catless...its def a higher flow issue. I like to think of the light as your investment working...its getting a lot more flow..throwing the sensor off.....and FYI:Make sure if plan on not running a cat...to tuck away your factory rear o2 nice and neat...as sensors do get hot!!! and DONT REMOVE IT OR ELSE YOUR TCC AND STABILITY CONTR. WILL GO CRAZY AND SCREAM AT CHA ON THE DIC ...IT DONT LIKE DAT!!!
All you will need is new gaskets. Some people will reuse there old gaskets, but I prefer new ones. I believe you can get them from Hogan as well, or go to the dealer, I think I paid about $30 for both?

yeah, just call Hogan and ask to speak to da man himself: Kurt Hogan, he is the one responsible for all orders and manufacturing of the DP's, he will set you up real nice, the kit comes in a long box with all you need. You will have some newspaper as packing material and your gaskets and flanges will be in a envelope taped to the side of the box labeled with marker, "Gaskets and Flanges". Your Downpipe will come in one piece half-way bolted-on for packing and fitting...gives you an idea of the direction it goes etc....thats if you buy a HF CAT with your set up....the shorty DP is just one short piece that is ideal for 3" back all the way custom exhaust....I dont recommend that though as there is such thing as too much exit flow...keep the ratio from the front as 3:2.5:2.25 to the rear in the muffs...just opinion...do the cardboard paper towel roll or gift wrap tube experiment I tell to guys for flow questions....you have to keep air tight toward the rear for a back pressure figure to help your HP...blow into one of those, and ill bet you get winded really quick...now place just a lil smaller one at end inside to constrict the flow, you will see smaller constrictions will "pinch the air" as this keeps ya flowing well and doing someting with the back pressure which means your not just cycling air out the rear...this is just my opinion though...lol
