what rotors/pads?
#2
Ive used R1concept crossdrilled slotted on my past 3 vehicles with no complaints. Brak much better than stock and look amazing. Some of the other brands look cheap to me. My rotors are powder coats blk

I was going to buy Powerslot rotors from autoanything for $70 each, with EBC pads. I ended up settling for Hawk HPS pads because they were cheaper, I bought those from pfyc.com for $75. And I ended up not buying rotors, just going to resirface the stockers.

thanks for the info guys, keep it coming. I'm kind of leaning towards the ebc dimpled and slotted rotors and redstuff pads, but they're kind of expensive. seems like a lot of people mention cracking with the crossdrilled rotors but they do look sweet and the r1's are very reasonable. aarrgh... decisions, decisions.

I went with Hawk Ceramic pads and autozone rotors. The autozone duralast rotors look pretty good and they say they've got warranty, so if they warp on me I'll take it back and try to get them replaced. If not, they're cheap enough anyway lol.

Good thread. I've been curious which rotors and pads I want to go with. I posted some good information on the MonteCarloForum with part numbers, prices, and links if you want to check that out.
I had PowerSlot rotors and Hawk HPS pads on my '04 Stratus R/T coupe and I loved them! I priced that setup for the Monte and it's going to be around $370.

Thanks, not a bad price for the powerslot/hawk. I've done a search over on mcf and read most of the threads- must have missed that one.
Red03gt, Ive ran the duralast on my camaro and they have held up pretty good, mine aren't crossdrilled though. Do they offer a few different grades or something? Maybe I'll check on autozone's website.
I guess r1concepts are popular and very reasonably priced. Nice looking too. Maybe these with the hawk or ebc pads would be my best option.
thanks for the feedback

I just did the brakes all the way around my wifes Expedition, I know not an LS4, but I went with Baer DecelaRotors and Baer sport pads. Came out to bout $650 front and rear, but they are awesome! Plus come with a 3yr warranty against warping and cracking. When I need to do the brakes on the Monte I'll see if they are available for it as well.

The autozone rotors for the GXP come cross drilled to replace the OEM ones that came cross drilled, I guess they had to make em true OEM replacements.
GXP rotors won't fit on the Impala/Monte, we use 12.7" rotors up front.

I'm going to go with the slotted/drilled powerstops also. Looks like they've had some really good feedback and it's always nice to do business with a supporting vendor. Probably going to be a week or so before I order but I'll report back with how they perform and will also post some pics after installed.
thanks for help guys.

I've got EBC dimpled/slotted rotors and EBC redstuff pads all around. I paid about $600. They are absolutely worth it. I freakin' love them!
LS4SPEED, Baer only makes the Decelas for the front.
