wider tires Impala k well i was lookin around and i couldnt really find what i was lookin for. What are the widest tires you can put on the 08 impy ss??

Many people use 255/45/18's, and I think they have to roll the rear fenders.
These might fit onto stock wheels, but not recommended - they'll bow out pretty bad.

It's my understanding that 255's on our 7" wide wheels is too much, but obviously those with experience with them can say and prove otherwise. 245 is the max, according to many tire calculators out there (i.e. www.1010tires.com, www.tirerack.com).

Not much at all as long as they have normal air pressure. That giant "Service Tire Pressure Monitoring System" is really annoying though. But I do like how the 245/45's handle better.
