First race in the new race car (circle track)
I thought I'd share some footage of the race this weekend at Owosso Speedway in Owosso MI. I'm in the red #14. This car is a 97' Neon I just finished and don't have completely dialed in. Didn't fair too bad for it's first bout off the street.

At Owosso Speedway they're called "Sport Stocks" it's a 4-cylinder class. Most local tracks will have some form of 4-cyl class and have many different rule sets depending on the track. I like most of the Michigan tracks because they give you a bit of freedom with the cars. The car has to be "stock" drivetrain but you can run any type of intake with a cone filter. You can modify stock suspension parts to achieve up to -8 degrees RF camber and + or - 2 degrees camber on the other three corners. You can set toe almost anywhere you want. Tire must be DOT street tires with a minimum 300 treadwear rating. Must have a rollcage, battery in trunk and kill switch. You can run sway bars if they are factory. All in all it's a hell of alot of fun and a cheap way to get into circle track racing. I kind of went all out on my car and it may fall into the "gray" area of "stock" but I think I have a total of $1500 in the whole car.

I want to get into circle track racing, but they only have dirt tracks here in Maryland that I know of.
I Love Rally Racing but its sooooo expensive to maintain, even with a DSM style beat car.
