Hope I didn't screw up! Hello from TX,
Been Checking this website out for a while now...this is my first post though. I was reading here a couple of days ago and I saw that a lot of guys were having issues with their brakes on their GXPs. Mine are trashed as well. I have a 07 GP GXP with 28000 miles on it and the rotor on the passanger side front has some significant grooves and scratches in it. Seems kinda odd. So I called the dealership to see if it would be covered under warranty and said they would take a look and see. They did tow it for free..that was cool...wasn't expecting that.
I wonder if they're gonna beat me across the head for the repair if warranty doesn't cover it. Should I have taken the car to Just Brakes or should I have just taken the time to do it myself. Anyone have any experiences similar to this?

Brakes on the GXP are very easy to do yourself. You'll get hosed for labor and parts if you take it anywhere. Assuming you have the tools and floor jack to do it, it is a 3 hour job TOPS!
I did my GXP earlier this year for $280 in parts (new rotors and pads) on the front.

Yeah thats what I'm afraid of. I'm just getting impatient...haven't drivin my car in over a week. Been driving my wifes Grand Am GT...almost killed myself trying to merge in that thing!
If they quote me an outrageous price I'll just pick it up and do it myself then. So if your parts cost $280 that means they're gonna charge me atleast $500, huh? Damn I'm ready to have my car back though...decisions decisions...

That's insane! I'm about to call them right now and tell them to not touch a damn thing! If they quote me a price like that I'm definately doing it myself...$1200...please...

Just priced the parts...less than $300. Luckily my neighbor is a mechanic and is more than eager to help out. Picked my car up from the dealership...those clowns were talking about charging me $700.00
I see there are a lot of different opinions about which rotors are the best (slotted, dimpled, drilled), think it would look stupid to have dimpled and slotted in the front and drilled in the back?
I'm still trippin' on that $1060.00 If they'da to me that today I'da told them to keep the damn car...take that $1060 and give me a new car!
