Default plans for august

Well Ia m going to be pretty broke for a bit, but Im not going to let money stop me from modding. car is a beast right now and i find my self drifting off through oit the days thinking about what i can do to my car. well im going to remove some weightstarting with the interior. im ging to pull out the carpet and sound deading mat and replace with light weight carprt im also going to install a rear seat delete made out of corrugated fiber board and black carpet since i dont use my back seats i have no need for them. i built a throttle body heat, and maf heatshield last week from aluminum and they work great. it takes the iat sender a long time to heat up now and the throttle body stays pretty cool untail the intake gets hot. i need to wrap my fuel line going form the tank to intake cause that sucker gets hot. does anybody know how much the stock front seats weigh? i found some killer racing seats for dirt cheap and am thinking about using them but they weigh 32 lbs a piece. need to buy a camera....

nice i dont know how much our seats weigh but we have a toyota sienna with leather seats in the middle that are removable i just weighed one and it was fifty lb ours being power and heated are easily 55 i would say

im looking to buy some kirkeys i would probably have to fab some brackets but being ony 11 lbs each losing 70lb could be huge

oh yeah if you could weigh the back seats that would be great

kirkys might be a little uncomfortable but would deffinitely save some serrious weight. i wonder how hard it would be to remove the a/c compressior and stuff from under the hood? i never use my a/c so im just storing junk. it would be nice to remove it and keep everything stored away. i really dont mind taking stuff of as long as i can put everything back on. i don't wanna hack this car up or ruien anything

my trunk is down to the painted metal and my rear seats are gone, you will not believe how much better you will be able to launch. The sweet spot when you get traction will come much sooner.

use a heat gun or a propane tourch and a scraper. recoat th floor with a little bit of truck bed liner (hurculiner) to seal up plugs and seams or welds if the deadner was covering that stuff up i might just line my whole trunk.

havent done anything yet but i will be in a few weeks got stuck watching the kid today so i cant do much but play madden 09. im shooting for 50 lbs with the rear seat delete and lighter carpet im going to gut the trunk too so maybe 60? it all adds upright? car will still be safe, just louder. on my cutlass removing the deadner took out 25lbs i left the trunk stock so that stuff is pretty heavy. once i go with diffrent seats im sure i will removed at least 100 and if i can figure out how to remove the a/c then i should be around 150. i will have to figure out how to re route the belt or use a custom made pulley with a bracket that bolts in place of the compressior. tracking? no rome to work on this car though so i dont knowbif i can get my idea to work. im really all for pulling the?dam ac radiator out cause its right in front of the radiator so id get better airflow/better cooling. i'll be sure to weigh everything on our big scale at work and post the resaults. has anyone else removed some weight from your ca

I didn't have to use a heat gun to remove anything, just ripped it out. All the welds are painted in the trunk so no need for anything else, paint adds weight too lol.. And our front seats are very...very heavy too, i'm replacing with lightweight racing seats.

I'm hoping we can get by with running a shorter belt and not running a dumby pulley with the ac pulley out, so there is less drag there too

That's what I'm thinking. I couldn't do it to something as new as our cars. Maybe an older car built for drag or something.
