I'm not planning on committing any sort of crime, I just value my privacy.

I also want Onstar disconnected. I don't think they should be able to track me. I don't pay for it, and would just rather turn it off. I do listen to XM though, so I need a solution too. For now, the car is going in the shop for tranny work, but once I get it back I'm going to look into this further.

I'll wait to see what you can find. I can't do much up here at college.

Any ideas on the battery?
The question you have to ask yourself is, What are you doing that you dont want the "man" or anyone else knowing?

Why is everyone questioning WHY he wants to remove OnStar? Who cares why! If you dont have a legit answer for the man don't reply! This is bullshit, grow up. I didn't like the fact that they (whoever they are) could track my every move my car made, and with this new president I'd be real scared.

just pull the fuse for it... and it's dead....

no power to it, can't work...

you're making it out to be much more difficult than it really is...

It's in the vcim module that's located under the carpet in the driver side trunk rear wheel well area.

This is a fun thread...talk about a bunch of .... and you think Obama gives two ***** about where you are driving your Impala SS, Monte Carlo SS or Grand Prix GXP????

Come on guys...you ask everyone to grow up...practice what you preach my friend....the system can be used to track your movements if you are a person of interest....so the question of why you need to take it out is a valid thing to ask.

If you want Onstar gone because you don't want to be tracked then you are either planning on doing something illegal, are doing something illegal or are a conspiracy theorist extraordinaire.

The men in black helicopters are not coming, the government doesn't care what you are doing and for the love of god take off the tin foil hats....
