Default Quick GXP tire question.

Does anyone know if a 245 width tire will fit on the front GXP rim?

Thanks

I'm sure it will fit since it is only one size smaller than stock, but it will probably look wierd. The sidewall of the tire will have to go out to meet the side of the wheel.

btw, why would you want to run a smaller diameter tire anyway? Our cars have a hard enough time getting traction from a stand-still. If anything I would want to go a little wider. JMHO...

I don't want a smaller diameter tire.

My problem is that I'm battling with Belle tire right now. I've recently discovered that the front snow tires I bought (I know, I should've of bought all 4, but I couldn't afford them @ the time) in January are 245's and that instead of mounting them on the front rims they mounted them on the rears and moved the fronts to the back without telling me. Well everytime I'd hit a bump or take a sharp turn with passengers in the back my rear tires would rub and the sidewalls were getting shredded. So I ended up taking my car to the dealership because I thought I had a suspension issue (It never dawned on me that it could be the tires). They informed me that the wheels were swapped and then it all started to become clear. Now the Belle Tire bastards are saying that they won't replace my damaged tires because they don't have a record of rotating my tires, when I know they're the only F***ers who have touched my wheels! So I guess I'm going to have to take them to court and when I do those shady ******** are going to end up replacing ALL my tires.

Sorry for the long reply, It felt good to vent.

I would look in the inner wheel well lip where the tires were rubbing to see if any paint has been worn off. If so then it will start to rust!

I just bought a set of ss 595's from tiresavings.com. They had the correct 255's for the front but I had to go with 235's on the rear which are a bit wider. They stick out a tiny bit but nothing to noticable. So far for the price I like them. I hit the autocross track next weekend to see what they can really do.

Qty Size Manufacturer Description Each Price
2 255/45ZR18 Federal SS-595-40681-321102132-BW-99W- 94.14 each $188.28 ttl

2 235/50ZR18 Federal SS-595-13256-321102150-BW-97W- 103.03 each $206.06 ttl
