MUURRDAHH! kinda..
so finnaly did it.. jobless and with lotsa time i finnaly painted the rims.. well only 2 for now.. used the 2 curb rashed ones as trial and error.. i mean, i CANT f**k em up more then they already were
for this project i used all rustoleum brand paint.. rustoleum car primer, rustoleum high performance flat black paint, rustoleum crystal clear coat..
keep in mind i have no real idea on how to prep shet.. i just know i gotta sand so tahts wat i did
since i have bad curb rash i used J.B. Weld to fill the scratches:
sanded it down as much as i could by hand with 600 grit.. and as you will see i made mistakes thinking the paint would be thick enough to fill little imperfections in my sanding.. i was wrong lol, i wont be resanding the rims in the future as instead i will get them powdercoated eventually..
added 3 coats of primer.. wet sanded with 1500 grit after the 3rd coat..
added 3 coats of flat black paint, wet sanded after 3rd coat 2500 grit, then added 1 light coat then a thick coat, why? cause i realized a thick coat looked better after drying haha
no pics..
added 2 coats of crystal clear coat and voila!
needs a MEAN *** drop
and yes i did remove my tint ugh.. takin care of my ticket :/
doesnt look too bad, i thought itd come out worse lol so im pretty happy..
and i got temp to hire job so should be good earnings for the next couple of months till i get my s**t straight..
gonna do the other 2 unrashed wheels today and tomorow.. then ill have pics of em on the car later..
for all u guys that are gonna say "IT LOOKS LIKE SHIET U SHUDA DONE IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND POWDERCOATED!"
i know.. and im broke.. i have the 20s on the car and have no use for the stockers so if this came out crappy they wuda been back in the garage.. might as well have fun lol
cant wait to see how much more torques ima feel with the slight weight reduction

thanks fellas.. yea i still have the stock lugnuts so ima paint those let em sit and fully dry for about a week so they dont strip when i tighten em.. i used the lugs with locks that i have on the 20's since theyr skinnier and therd be less chance to scratch the rims..

thanks fellas!
UPDATE: since i mostly misted the clear coat on, it came out looking dusty, not very noticable so i wasnt tripping, but i left the wheels outside yesterday and checked em out today to see how they held up in case the paint cracked or anything, good news, the paint is A ok! bad-ish news, the clear coat seems to collect ALOT of lint.. more then when it was just straight spraypaint before the clear.. SO, i decided ima just not clear coat it.. i dry sanded the clear coat a bit, not enough to get to the paint but just enough to have scratches all over the rims with 1500 grit.. gonna just add a thick coat of paint and leave em for about a week.. do the same to the other wheels..
just found out yesterday im going out of the country for a week, so ima try to finish this project up and let em fully set for the week hopefully it comes out well with just paint

There is only one other LS4 (that I know of) that has done this:
I like his, BUT man does your look more sexellent!! For me the fact that your car is all black, makes it a perfect match!! And I like the rims without clear!!
Great Job!!
