Calling rental owners
Mine 08 Impala SS started as a rental. It even had a special code on the the build sheet indicating it had a rental package.
It was 9 months old and had 14k miles when I got it. Probably saved at least $8k off the purchase price.
It looked fairly clean, but the detail guys missed all the Doritos under the trunk mat and in the spare well and the plastic dinosaur in the rear fenderwell.
It was a rental/loaner for 10K and then a guy in Michigan owned it for another 6K and now its mine....37,840 miles still going strong....

I'm sure I saved at least $10k off list - but I figured I could have saved some off list if I had bought it new.
The SS emblem in the steering wheel is partially pushed in, the rear bumper was repainted, there were a couple small blemishes in the interior (not the seats or dash), it needed a four wheel alignment which the dealer provided, a couple rims had the rough edge from being "curbed". The sheet metal was clean and straight and it came with new floor mats, and no signs it was overabused (no scrapes on frame from jumping, no major wrecks, etc). I really liked the whole package so the minor blemishes were well worth the savings.
