a lil update....i unhooked everything i could think of that was pulling power and let the charger sit on it for about 10 minutes....the charger said the battery was at 75% and it wouldnt go above that....it turned over and i drove it for about 20 minutes....when it started out it was at 12 all the way up 14.65 after a few minutes.....at stop signs it went down to 14.00...after 10 minutes it was hangin pretty steady at 14.4...right now it is goin to sit for about 4 hours and i will see if it decides to be a piece of **** or start up.

14.6+V is probably over the float voltage, your battery is likely damaged, next time it refuses to turn over, slap your meter on it. If it shows around 10.5V or less, a cell has opened up and it is garbage. Might not show it unless it is under load (or just stopped being under load, like a start attempt).

an 08 GXP W/12,xxx miles is still under warranty, take it back to the dealer for a new battery and let them deal with the headache of changing it.
My 2006 Impala with 30,000 the stock AC delco went bad, dealer replaced with no further problems..........yet.

the battery was replaced under warranty a few days ago....they didnt have to cover it under warranty though....when i took out the stock head unit and put in my nav system the onstar was continually searching for a signal and that is what killed my battery since it was always drawing power....thankfully they werent ******** about it and i think it helps my father in law works there....also they are replacing my caliper because the paint came off under warranty also....i was surprised by that one for sure.

I had a charging system problem last weekend. Seemed that my terminals and posts had a lot of corrosion on them, eventually the battery died. Did some reconditioning of the posts and terminals and now all seems to be well again. I dont care much for these wierd, over complicated terminals, I'd rather the old side posts, they never rotted on me before.
