Unhappy Not sure what caused this...

It recently started out small but then grew very large and very fast.
Here are some pics, sorry there hard to see took them with my phone.
It wasnt caused by droppings, i never let it sit for more then a day, before washing it off. Dont want to buy new ones cause they range from 50-80$
Any opinions or thoughts? BTW these are the door panels between the front and rear window.
Looks like the clear coat? is peeling, its where the paint is very dull.

Try a little cleaner wax and see if that helps, looks like oxidation to me.

It's called "crappy GM plastic". Mine has that too, and quite a few other people I know have the same thing.

I had one side of my imp panels replaced under warranty a couple of years ago for this problem, now the other side is doing it. It is appears to be separation of the top layer. You can wax all day and it will not remove this. It is ashame that GM has had so many preventable problems with this car. I'm not really impressed with the quality for the money I spent on mine. Not sure what I will buy next. I'm pretty sure it will not be GM. JMHO

Maybe when I get time and my panel gets worse, because it will, I might try painting them.

I have the ISS issue, the door panel issue, my headlights are clouding on top, my vents rattle when the air is on, the stock wheels have always shook slightly and I've already had 2 replaced under warranty (for over $1000 to replace the set, its not a cheap fix), battery failure right after I bought the car and the vents do not always blow through the vents that the **** says it should (of course the dealer could not duplicate the problem), failure of the photo cell on dash causing my headlights to come on intermediately during the day (this makes it nearly impossible to see the radio display because of night mode dimming the display) and the list goes on. Am I rambling or do I sound disgruntled?? The list goes on.

Good luck on your panels, I'd be interested in knowing if anybody else knows a fix for the panels besides replacement.

I think I remember see some stainless steel covers for those. Might be a viable option for a light colored car like white or silver.

well i'm going to try and do that, i was wondering if the rust, or just body paint coverage would cover it, idk but i'm going to see what they say. and no i understand what your say, my imp being my first car and all, i'd really hate to say it but i'm thinking of trading it in. i was hoping on keeping it.
