Sorry guys... I was just thinking that his car being an 08 he would be upside down in that thing if he got rid of it. In the long run it would be cheaper just to fix it. This economy sucks right now, hang on to all the money you can. Sorry to talk some sense in to you SM. Don't want my arch-rival going anywhere... lol...

Are you going to keep DOD? Think you may need to go back to the stock rockers if you cam it. In most cases you do. Not sure about the one you have though. Glad your fixing the car dude.

I know the rockers you have now work good but when you combine those with a new cam the lift may be too much. You may only be able to run with the 1.7's. Check with the LS1/6 section, many people have to go back to the stock rockers when doing a cam. I just don't want you to go through all of this $hit and have to tear it back down again. And yes, you probably will have to ditch DOD after the new cam goes in. I wonder if a G8 cam would work in our cars because they have DOD but I am unsure of the specifications. I do know the G8 has a better lifter design than the LS4 and should work for our cars. I did hear the LS2 cam is great up top but crummy down low in the LS4. Keep us informed on the re-build.

SM,

I'd call them back and tell them our cars have the LS6 heads on it. I have a 243 casting number which designates the LS6 head. I do not see why a set of thier LS6 heads would not fit.

If I were you I would click on the ls1tech banner up top and go to the Gen 3 and Gen 4 internal engine sections on the home page.

You need to check out the cam specs and compare the LSA, intake and exhaust duration and lift.

Those guys have been working on these cars a lot longer then us and will be able to help you out more.

We have LS6 heads so an LS6 cam would work, however if you are going to change to a new cam you might as well swap out the lifters while you are at it....

Also G8's have at least 2 DOD/AFM custom grind cams out there...different engine etc but same idea...
