225/50x18 = 26.86"
235/50x18 = 27.25"
245/45x18 = 26.68"
255/45x18 = 27.04"

Wont it throw the Stability control and the ABS all out of wack? ABS last i knew engaged when there was more than 5mph difference between wheel speeds when breaking.

I bought the Federal SS595's. $83.17 each from onlinetires.com.

They arrived at the shop where I usually get my work done and I'm planning on getting them mounted (along with changing out my pads to ACDelco ceramics and putting on the molded splash guards that arrived yesterday) this weekend.

Others on this forum said they compared favorably to the stock Potenzas (expensive to replace).

All that means is that they don't have some rediculous mark up. They could still be a decent tire.

Well you posted in the thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls4-front...-save-few.html

At the end of the day, I'm looking to save money and the GXP is pretty much my daily driver. And quite honestly, anything would be better than what's around my front wheels at the moment.

What's the sidewall material on the Federals? According to GM engineers they had problems with the sidewalls retaining their structure at high speeds and needed to use tires with a fancy carbon fiber sidewall for the car to handle properly. That would be my only worry.

I went to onlinetires.com and looked up the Federal's a(there website too) and the Nexen's. Anyone have any experience with the Nexen N3000 and N7000? My car is my DD and it doesnt go to the track or autocross. I'm looking for an inexpencive tire that will be a good DD. I like the Nexen cause of the treadwear ratings 340 and 360 respectively. Anyones thoughts?
