slicks
I know there is a lot of transmission failures, which is why in my other post just below i say we don't have the best transmissions.
If you read my post i'm talking about the difference between 05s trans and the 06 and up trans. Some people say the trans or ecm/tcm is different and i have not seen info to prove this.

I turned my car in Friday for transmission repairs. They are going to tear it apart on Monday. I have the option of getting 3.69 gears from the Chevy Uplander. Should I or should I not. I have a tuner who will fix any issues associated with the gear ratio change. It would definitely rpm quicker and I could use third gear in the quarter. I need opinions before Monday evening.
suspension, brakes, body and interior are different but the rest is the same.
Go over to ClupGP and GPONA forums in the GXP sections and this is what you will find. There could be all kinds of reasons why alot have a problem and dont beat on there cars but you will find a few that do and dont have a problem (but those arent the norm).
where can you show me the proof that there is any diference in drivetrain and ecm/tem? I just want proof because on the build sheets they are the same drivetrains (other than tap-****) and same computers throught out the years and differnt ls4 cars.

Well I put on the slicks this afternoon to get a feel when I go to the track this wednesday if it dont rain then went on one of the back roads to try them out. First I just gave little spin, stalled at 2500rpm ,and slightly hammered it. Man it felt good to not spin!! I did it again , stall at 2500, and slightly hammered a little more than the first time, felt even better no wheel spin. Yes I know at the track its different but just wanted to get a feel!!! The only thing I didnt like was that once i reach 60mph the car starts shaking a little. They did balance the tires, don't know if they did it right or if its normal for it to do that. tires were @ 25psi.
I now have 255/50/16 BFG Drag Radials. I've gotten 2.06 60 foots at a lesser prepped track with 25psi and a small burnout. At my local track, I've only gotten a best of 2.27 on the street tires, and a 2.16 on the DR's due to lack of prep.
