Hyperactive DOD and lazy OD

Hyperactive DOD and lazy OD Lately it seems as though my DOD has been very touchy. Constantly switches between 4 cyl and 8 cyl with the cruise on while driving with an ever so slight grade. I was always able to keep it in overdrive and keep the DOD engaged while slowly accelerating from like 45-60. Now it kicks in and out all the time. Cleaned the MAF w/ MAF cleaner yesterday thinking it was excessive oil from my new K&N CAI. The cleaning seemed to correct the slight loss in power i've been feeling but had no affect on DOD. Gas Mileage dropped from a combined 20 I was getting a year and a half ago to a combined 17.5 lately. Doesnt like shifting into overdrive on cold mornings unless it warms up or I do over 50 mph. Just some observation. Any help appreciated.
I noticed that last winter as well... DOD doesn't like the cold. once the car gets to the optimal running temp I believe it will be more consistent. Over the summer, city only, I was getting high 16 MPGs, now I'm down to mid to high 15's since it's getting colder.

A year and a half ago I was getting better mileage. But the reason why its dropped is because of the SH**y gas thats at the pumps now. Its 10% ethonal now. My Highway dropped from 29mpg with cruze set at 72mph to 22mpg with cruse set at 68mph.

I have my DOD turned off and got 28.6mpg on a 4hr round trip to the beach last week. I run premium which doesn't have any ethanol in it. With DOD on I get 30mpg. My city mpg is aroung 18 with or without DOD.
That sounds about right. I definitely get better mileage with Premium. As always doing the speed limit will help you car get better mpgs and keep you in DOD mode longer. But your mileage may vary as it seems everyones LS4 responds differently!
