just wondering if anyone has heard of taking a gxp and making it all wheel drive, if this can be done i def will do it, i live on lake eire so it snows a crapload up here, plus will help my 1/4 mile time a bunch as well! is it possible to launch these cars without spinning the the 330' mark? my best time at the track on a 40 degree nite was 14.2 at 100 flat, no burn out, and the track is well maintained best launch pad for anytrack i've ever been to and i still couldnt hook up

if you want to get traction at the track lower your psi to around 23-24...i did this and got my 60' times down to 2.1 which isnt bad on street tires and gave me a 14.0 pass at 100 with little spin....what were your 60'?

Get drag radials. But it really boils down to the track prep. I've been to three tracks this month, all three different. My 60 foot was 2.12 with my all seasons at one, and my local track my best with all seasons is 2.28.

Biggest problem is getting a ADW transmission and all the hookups to fit down there. Most other car transmissions would be blown straight to hell by the LS4's torque and the heat. You'd either have to adapt a TB:SS trans and somehow cram that sucker into our car or else pay someone to custom build up something.

It's possible, but not cost effective. If you have that kind of money, you could easily pick up a used RWD V8 and mod it and get more return for your money.

You would need a tranny/driveshafts/etc out of a awd tbss or buick suv, and those aren't really bulletproof to start with. Just save up for the 4dr awd porsche turbo sedan with 500hp... MSRP: $ 132,600.00

well not really interested in a porche, if it doesn't have a gm tag on it i will never own it' even if it was givin to me for free i would trade that **** in, anyway not really doing it for the 1/4 mile help but its a plus, im worried about the snow. i know a fwd is better then rwd in the winter but awd is def the best, def would have to build a custom trans myself, just wondering what it would take money wise or if anybody has herd of this before!

ok and my 60ft times were at best 2.16 and worst was 2.33, my old 97 v6 firebird that i traded for this was modded up and pulled 1.8 60fts all day long but bogged out at the top end and ran about 14.7 every time, i knew i was going to spin but didnt think it would slow down my 60 time

I've heard about plenty of AWD swaps, there's a shop some where in Europe that does swaps on Minis. Plus some rally cars are AWD swaps. It'll cost A LOT more to do that than to pick up an AWD beater.

Default Simple Solution:

1. Find a car like yours that has been wrecked, preferably from the rear.

2. Take out the motor, trans, suspension, front frame and all as one unit.

3. Mount it all in the rear of your car. Link up the fuel, gear select, and throttle. Wire up another ignition switch. Have it operate on it's own PCM.

4. Go hunt Corvettes!

I don't think there is a cheaper way to have a 600+hp AWD sedan. I don't see how anything else is going to work without spending several times the value of the car.

Anyone remember the Hyundai Tiburon that did this in the early 2000's? Turbo'd both motors, I think each put down 300whp. Put the rear one in drive, the front motor in reverse and do the sickest donuts ever.
