Default Amp Service Bulletin

So just a FYI. I took my 08 GXP in for it's oil change and I told them the center speaker was blown so when the dealership went to order a new one they came back and told me GM sent out a service bulletin saying to replace the amp first if the center speaker is poppin, buzzin, hissin, cracklin, ect..... So they ordered me a new amp.

its not hard to tell if your center speaker is shot (3.5 inch) popping, buzzing. I had mine go in my 07...took me a week of above average sound levels. Ive since replaced all my speakers except the rears with aftermarket (Treo) ones. Saving up for a 18 inch treo sub! hahahah

Already had mine replaced not long after I got the car in 06 because of a hiss, I was told then of the TSB. Didn't help much, just a little. Thats bad to hawk the BOSE system as being their best and then having a TSB issued.

The only portion of your warranty that should be VOID is the drivetrain.

Ya thats what i thought but when i called gm they said twice that if you modify ANY part of the car ALL warrenty is voided. So i asked them if i swaped to a different head usint would i have no more warrenty on the engine? And they said yes.

thats a bunch of bullshit....they replaced my battery even though it was my fault it went bad...my aftermarket head unit made the onstar search all the time and killed it.

I'm not sure about the laws down there but my pontiac garage said only mods that are related to the damaged part will void it
