Just think about it, there is no competition, someone could bank off making some pulleys. I wish I had a CNC.

I'm not sure about the others, but a TBSS and a G8 have two belts, one for the a/c and one for everything else. That then would not let them interchange if the ls4 only has one belt. Look around for another ls moter that only has one belt.

Looks cheap enough. Buy it and see it it fits, if not put it on ebay.

FWIW, here's a comparison of the LS2 accessory drive vs LS4. Big difference. This shouldn't be too hard for an aftermarket company to adapt and make for you guys. You should try starting something similar to whats going on with the header situation.

maybe we would have better lucky looking at a 6 groove setup off a 3800 v6 or something havent looked it up yet just a thought .. and for the alternator, maybe off a truck setup.

The reason they wont work for us is our crank and assessory are a shorter leangth than any other LSX. And from what i can think every other LSX based motor uses two belts. And as for the sensativity of our pulley system. Havent we had a couple people with HUGE issues when doing some mods and have the pulleys way out of alignment????

What type of tool is required? I was looking at my dad's 08 gxp and it does look like a nightmare. Where can I get the tool? Is it available at a local parts store or only through snap on?
Thanks,
Kory

The one I have purchased through the dealer you can not get the belt off with the ones at Autozone or OReilys.

your best bet is to do a group thing like what was done with the headers. They are a good mod for the LS engines, typically pick up around 10hp. Not bad for a couple hundred bucks.
