Default Concerned About Performance

Just had a couple concerns about the car regarding performance. (my other thread kind of got ruined.

Now if you read my other post, I'm on the original air filter, plugs, everything.

I have had a few races and maybe it's because I had an LS1, but I feel like I should've won by more. I am 3-0 by the way.

Anyway, is it normal for the cars to feel like dogs in second gear? I watch my speedo and it seems like it accelerates as slow as my old V6 Camaro.

Any suggestions? I am gonna do K&N filter, plugs, clean the throttle body, and seafoam by this weekend and see if that helps. Maybe it just needs a tune up!

IDK, it just seemed like these cars kind hung in there after 60 which is weird because they were much slower cars. I had hoped the LS4 was another top end monster since it's LS based?

might need a tune up but the intake and exhaust on the car really choke this motor down. the ls1 puts down a lot more power. not to mention that the car has no gearing and your in second. congrats on being 3-0 what have you matched up against?

A tune really helped me. I felt the same way in 2nd gear. But bumped the rev limiter and shift point in first and raised the 2-1 downshift by a few MPH. It REALLY woke the car up. Now if you can go from a 65 or 70 roll 2nd gear is where it's at.

Yes I counted it, haha. It was a friend and like I said, it's all I have gotten.

Maybe I should get HPtuners too and be done with modding. I need to remind myself I did not buy it to be a race car!

Put in the new K&N filter and tossed the old disgusting 98k mile original, as well as the 98k mile sad looking plugs replaced with E3's.

Car definitely has more power now, Next step, clean TB and throw a can of seafoam through her and I will be done except for a tuner and that's all I am doing.....hopefully!

Haven't tested 2nd gear yet, but it sure gets to 60 quicker. I will be trying the ole 0-100 soon to make sure everything is as it should be.

Every dyno is different. The only real way to tell what gains you got from the K&N is to get dyno'd before and after.
