Need some help deciding on a Hand-held tuner
I am going to get a tuner from my Girl for Christmas and I was looking for some input on which one to get. I do not really want HPTuners because I don't plan on getting extreme with my tune. I basically want to do basic stuff like turning the rear o2 sensor off. (Since now I have a check engine light and my remote start won't work. It's getting pretty damn cold here. lol )
So what brand of Hand-Held tuner would you recommend?
Thanks in advance.

I have HPTuners and it's still worth it... they have 2 versions of Interface, I'm not sure what the lesser one does, but it may be what you're looking for.
I don't have much experience with anything else but I hope this helps

You can't program out the O2 code with the Diablosport, only turn it off temporarily. You could get a DiabLEW tune for ~$75 from 06monteSS and he can permanently remove the O2 code.
For now, I've just done the anti-fouler fix and it's been working so far.

yep... I can do a whole LOT of tweaks in a custom Predator tune to getcha a lot more giddy-up, disable codes, etc etc etc...
but, if you have a 2008 Grand Prix GXP, then the diablosport predator won't work for you anyway, since it's not supported just yet...
(and btw, superchips is no comparison to the Diablosport Predator in terms of performance increases or adjustability anyway )

The only problem for me with HPT is I have seen people tune with it and it looks confusing as hell. I would know what the hell I was doing and I would be afraid that I would mess something up rather than accomplish what I actually want to.
If I were to get it though, would it just be the GM one?

An example that helped me was this one for the 3800. http://www.hollandms.com/newbie/tuning_new.htm
Also you should register on the forums at www.hptuners.com
There is much support and a lot of threads that are very informative.
When you buy one it usually comes with 8 Credits. Yes, you will want to get the GM credits, however, you can purchase credits for Ford and Dodge if you need to tune them in the future for friends or what not. That is correct though, when you purchase tell the salesperson you want GM credits.
I hope this helps. Make sure you check out the HPTuners forums.
