Which ls4 to get?
I really like my folks gxp but sounds like gxps have lots of issues and was wondering if the monte or the impala are any better? I know there similiar but was wondering what you guys thought? Would I have more to worry about with the pontiac for parts down the road cause they got the axe? I've been told to get an 07 cause the bugs are worked out more any truth to that? thanks for any help.

I think a fair amount of people here would say skip the W body and go for the G8 GT. I think it's like $6500 off Pontiacs right now. If you go used and you stick with the W body, which I like and personally think is a great and fun daily driver, then you won't have to worry about parts. A friend of mine is still buying brand new parts for his Intrigue, and even when parts production stops in 10 years it will take a while for inventories to deplete. Other than the powertrain, brakes, and shocks, the parts are mostly interchangeable with the base Impala and Grand Prix too. You've heard everyone complain about their transmission, but otherwise they're good cars IMO. Certainly no issues like the gas pedal sticks and then you can't stop and crash and die.
If 1/4 times are your number one priority, then look elsewhere. If you want a fun all season daily driver, then the LS4s fit the bill IMO.

if I had to do it all over again, I'd actually get the Monte Carlo instead of the Impala, simply because I think it's the best looking of the 3. (well 4 if you count the LaCrosse Super)

I'd just buy whichever you think looks better. I liked the looks of the Imp SS so I got that. I did like the GXP exterior wise a lot as well. Only thing that kept me from the GXP was the interior, don't like it at all and since you spend your time in the car for me it was a turn off. And I didn't want a Monte just because I didn't want another 2 door car.

I just found the GP's interior to be goofy looking. Don't know how else to describe it haha. I'm not even talking quality of parts, the Imp does have entirely too much cheap hard plastics, but I liked the overall layout much better.

I was debating between the GXP and Monte when buying. The GXP has a few more goodies (suede, tapshift, brakes, ets.) but the Monte just looks better. I couldn't get past the SS badge, a true american past time. It's not like the good ol' days with the 454 big block, but still a great daily driver. We owned an Imp SS, very similar but not as cool as the monte. don't let the 4 doors fool you either, that back seat is tiny. Monte Carlo gets my vote

Monte carlo for sure..it's the best looking of the 3 and has the most heritage left in it's lines. It also seems to be the least common of the 3 across all model lines. GXP if you're looking for more performance out of the box....it's also better looking than the impala.

You could guess where I stand on the matter. I like the SSes but the GXP is just more aggressive IMO. BUT, no rotating wheels.
Alternatively, the G8 insurance shouldn't be much more than the LS4s.
