Default Back from "Cobalt Hell"

I'm back to this site after a long absence. Sold my Camaro, bought a diesel pickup, sold pickup, bought a Cobalt, traded Cobalt in on an Impala SS (my first four door).

Anyways, I'm pretty happy with this car the way it is but may do a catback and a little window tint and that's gonna be it. I promise.

Nah, it has to get warmer... I'm not even thinking about meeting until I can get out in shorts, no coat, and wash/clay/wax my car.

Thanks but no thanks. It would look good but I'm not doing anything that would degrade the ride.

I'd probably be up for something like that once the weather get nice.

Someone suggested to me to leave the stock mufflers and get rid of the resonator. Has anyone done this? I'm not looking for loud but a nicer tone would work.

Tons of people have done this. Was very popular. I did a manual cutout after the res but before the mufflers. I did this for the cost. Gets me a nice sound when i want and silent cruising for the long trips.

Deleting the resonator would be a really good idea if you're looking to keep the stock tone just a little louder. You may hear DOD more but nothing unbearable.

Well, my Cobalt was a base LS, 5 speed, crank windows. Don't have anything bad to say about it, good A to B car, no complaints. I even took it to the track a couple times and managed to get the fastest time on cobaltss.net for a stock 2.2 Cobalt. I went 15.40 @ 89. Oh, and 35 MPG was nice too.

I know. Getting about 22 MPG now according to the display. I can live with that.

Here is the link to my thread about my "fast Cobalt" if anyone cares. http://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=89861
