I am going to buy a tuner soon, but do not know which one to buy. I was thinking about the SuperChips Cortex? Any input?

Is the HP tuner CARB and emissions legal? I think the Diablo is not CARB legal

Nevermind...the diablo is not carb lega but it does not effect emissions. Therefore, I am guessing that it can go undetected.

you'll be perfectly fine with a Diablo Predator or Trinity... you can not disable any emissions-related items with it - that functionality was removed due to EPA regulations...

plus, by getting a tune and getting your fueling dialed in properly, your engine will actually be running BETTER/more efficiently than stock...

AND, you can even go through emissions testing with the tune installed, it doesn't affect anything emissions related... so, no worries...

and as was mentioned above, when it comes to handhelds, the Diablo Predator / Trinity are the best bet... they offer better performance gains, the most adjustability, the ability to get custom tunes written for them/your vehicle, etc etc...

trying to compare a handheld to full-blown tuning software like hp tuners, is like comparing apples to bananas... they are two totally different applications...

I have the SuperChips Cortex & it is better than stock but is very limited on adjustments. At least I was able to turn off the DOD.

The Diablo Predator is not available for the 07 or 08 GP GXP or I would of bought one. I have a Diablo Predator fo my Wife's 06 Mustang and I'm very happy with the performance improvement.

For the average person the HPTuner is spendy & there is a learning curve for a do it yourselfer. By far the best way to go if you know what you are doing or pay $500 for a dyno tune.

Call Vector Motorsports. They do an awesome job of tuning, and now have some options that will store a few tunes or so that you can easily switch back and fourth (power flash cable?). Not sure of the details. They had an awesome tune in my 06 Impala and in my current Trailblazer SS.

you can get a brand new one from a diablosport authorized dealer/reseller for $299...
