LS1 intake here I come!!!!!

As you can see it's probably also possible to use the 1998-2005 corvette ones with the two wiring connectors. Both of those tbs will bolt up to the ls6 manifold.
The truck one is the newer design and would be the best option other than making an adapter plate for the manifold.

It has been stated by GM engineers and many magazine articles and other techs that the LS6 intake is about 10hp stronger then the LS1 intake above 4500rpm.

Built LS6 with cam and headers with tuning

Another cammed LS6 with headers.
On a smaller engine with a smaller cam and less gear I would opt for the LS1 intake and if I had a built motor I'd just spend the extra money on a FAST manifold.
I'm all for the LS6 intake, but I don't think one should "have" to have it over the LS1 intake unless they were both the same price. Withe our stock cam, small cubed motor it will be fine and make plenty of power. 60.00 for about 20hp at the wheels is a great deal! Plus, I wouldn't feel bad cuting it up.

@DavidGXP, yes the LS6 is "rated" at +10hp over a stock ls1 but people commonly see +15 at the wheels over the ls1. Don't forget GM was a little over conservative with their power ratings a few years ago.

The 01-02 F bodys got the LS6 intake and the LQ4 camshaft with less lift then the previous F cars. Also, GM removed the EGR and added better flowing exhaust manifolds All of this added 5hp total. Swapping the LS6 intake onto a 98-00 LS1 is a popular trend cause its a direct swap and they have the better cam, but... why not go F.A.S.T intake? Cost!
The writing is on the walls with the article's I posted above. I truly do not believe the LS6 intake on our motors, is worth the price for just a few ponies upstairs. Cost!
Once we start swapping cams and raising compression I would be more inclined to defend the LS6 intake.
Seriously, read those articles and look at the graphs. Then, stop and think about the cams there using, and the LONG TUBE HEADERS, electric water pumps, tb's and expert tuners. Then stop and think how much power that would be at the wheels.
