Damn that sucks. I just took my '06 in about 2 weeks ago for the recall. Mine burst when I was driving also Im glad it didnt go up in flames tho cuz I just bought the thing in Nov. '09

insurance company has hired an independant appraiser to determine value of car to see if it's a total loss.. I'd say judging by the pics it's obviously a total loss wouldn't you? needs the following as far as i can tell

engine
trans
engine cradle
core support
hood
fenders
complete computer and all harnesses
cooling system
under dash wiring and who knows what else under there
HUD assy
windshield
A/C system
wiper motor and assy
bumper cover and all lighting
probably lots more plus labor

Thought i'd give a final update to this saga, car has been deemed a total loss and insurance is paying it off. guys make sure you have GAP insurance on your cars. it's been a priveledge owning a LS4 powered GP and i have to say i don't regret owning it. hopefully i'll say the same for the 2010 RS/SS 6 speed Camaro that is replacing it.

Dont get a RS i know they look pretty but you will be kicking yourself when u start missing the extra horse power and torque
