Default How accurate are the logs on Superchips Cortex??

I was messing around this morning with the Superchips which can tell you your time up to 1/4 mile and such as well as 1-xx runs. I was wondering if this is accurate? It plugs into the OB2 port so I image it should be accurate since it is getting the information from the computer. The run before this I had a 13.99 1/4.
What do you all think?

This is on stock tires with some wheel spin. How the hell do I launch without wheel spin!?

Believe it or not, I logged 4-5 runs with it and all but once it was within 1/10th of a second. The mph was off by a couple mph. One run when I spun it gave me bogus numbers, but when I didn't spin much it was pretty close.

And for launching without spin - buy DR's lol.

Well then I am happy with a 13.75 with bolt ons

I bet I can get it lower if I lower my front air pressure, I believe they are at 35psi.

How do you get the log to work? I haven't got mine to work yet. I get to the screen to stop the car but then it doesn't do anything. Called Superchips & they said it should count down then you can go. I've never seen it count down. My only option is to abort it.

I'm headed to the track soon if it ever stops raining & want to compare real vs Cortex.

When I set it into 1/4 mile mode, it waits until I stop, says it's ready, then starts upon me taking off.

Havelegs - I wouldn't get too excited without a real timeslip - but there shouldn't be any reason you shouldn't be able to run a 13.7 as long as you get off the line decent.

I have to work on the launch more. I'm holding brake, and bringing the rpm to about 2500, release brake, press more on the gas, and so on until I floor it. How are you all doing it?

Heslekrants as soon as you begin movement the time will start. It will end once you reach 1/4 mile.

I rev to about 1800-2000rpms and launch at about 50% throttle, when the tires hook I go to WOT.

Oh wait, do you keep TC on? I have noticed that even with TC on they'll break loose for a bit.

I don't run with TC on, but there are some that do and have yielded good results.

I had a DashHawk tell me I ran a 13 flat at 109. I'd take the programmer/computer's results with a grain of salt. Shouldn't be too terribly off though. (Mine was though, lol)

And like CenTex said, turn TC off, it kills power when it kicks in from what I've heard.

Yeah I think that a 13 sec is a bit off lol. I thought TC just applies braking, or is that the stability control?

Traction control kills power at the wheel to help keep traction, stability control takes it a step further to help keep you alive, lol. SC saved my *** from rolling one day on some twisties. At least that what I understand about it...

The DH was giving me decent number when I had little wheel spin, like 13.6 @ 102 or 13.8 @ 101, although still a little off. I roasted them on the 13 flat, lol.
