Recommended Spark Plugs
Hey guys, I'm looking at changing my plugs next week when my headers get installed and since I'll be probably yanking my plugs, I was wondering what some of you guys use and what are the best ones to use. I've got about 60,000 miles on the car so it is probably in need for a change. I'm sure there are some better ones out there than stock.

I use XP-104's or XP-5243's by Autolite. I have the XP-5243's in now and get no knock. The 104's are one hr colder and the 5243's are 2. I have had the 53's in for over 1.5 years with no problems. By the way these are Iridiums.

Stockers are your best bet. They are a very well made plug, as well as the wires.
Stock plugs are about 5.00 a pop and last 100k and the wires are about 85.00 and have heat shields. Plus they are spring loaded so they won't pop off and won't break when you pull them off. GM went ***** out on our heads and ignition for some reason. i know the truck coils are better but I'm still impressed.

Gotta laugh, there are so many false claims about spark plugs and so many gimmicks. Truth is: any well made good working plug with a sufficient spark will work just fine. Yes, an old worn out spark plug may not fire well or at all and foul and cost power. And some plug types will out last others. (Iridium) HOWEVER, DON"T believe all the crap about special fancy high price plugs adding all kinds of power, they just don't. A spark plug's job is to ignite the air fuel mixture in a compressed cylinder, period. If its a good plug with a decent sufficient spark, as most brand name plugs are, it will do that. Plugs claiming giant sparks with gobbs of extra horse power are a joke and a drain on your wallet only. Pour some gas in a bowl, through in a lit match or a burning log, which is going to make the gas burn and ignite? BOTH!!!!
There have been lots of real tests done with spark plugs and even spark plug wires. The same results each time: As long as the plugs and wires are well made and in good shape they work fine, but will add no EXTRA power unless they replace worn out malfuncting original parts that were actually losing power.
