I just watch the percentage on the OLM too, but change it around 5K since I use synthetic.

I use Royal Purple and I change mine at about 15 - 20% oil life. It doesn't use any between changes. I only flog it at the track, seldom do I play on the street. Getting a little too old for that.

I read somewhere that it was within specs for a new/ newer vehicle to burn a quart of oil between oil changes (oil change intervals being 3,000 miles). Is it that big of a deal to lose a quart every 2-3,000? Just wondering what the advantages are of adding a catch can, compared to dumping in a quart every couple months.
Over time the it could get more expensive, but it is almost like changing 1/6 of your oil every couple months!

I will be installing it later today. I looked and the only place I can mount it without it being in the way of other things is off of the engine brace. I have a FWI so I have nothing in the way like a K & N CAI or similar intakes. Once / If it is installed I will take a picture of it and post it. Wish me luck...

I think you got the hoes routing mixed up. I think one comes in from the top of the intake (pcv/vacuum) and the other goes in to a valve cover (dirty air) Please correct me if I'm wrong.

DavidGXP,you are not wrong, the catch can needs to be hooked up into the PCV valve hose, NOT to the clean vent side. Sorry Mgpeagle, you got it wrong. The pcv valve is on the back side (fire wall) valve cover, passenger side, under the alternator bracket. Its hose runs to the top of the intake manifold under the engine cover. Take off the cover and you'll see it easily. The catch can needs to be placed in this hose.

Then why does oil get on everyones throttlebody and into the intake behind the tb. I even had oil on one of the nipples, so I know oil is coming up this way. I am leaving it alone for now.

Could you take a pic of the lines you are talking about? I took a quick look this morning before work but only saw pwr. strg. lines, coolant lines, and harnesses. I didn't see anything else unless its near the pulley's somewhere. Thanks, man.

It's the line that goes from the top/center of your intake manifold, to the firewall side/rear valve cover. The hoes is hard to track but it's under the alt bracket. Did you see oil on the front side of your tb? I've got oil on the back side and in the intake manifold. What your trying to do is clean up the dirty air, not the clean air. The center vacuum port on the top of the intake manifold is pulling vacuum from the valve cover and the intake tube is venting

I stole this picture from internet on a Google search, wiggley circle is mine though lol. Red line circling the PVC hose that you need to splice catch can into. This is where oil gets into manifold and spreads through out it.
