The FWD GP has been around almost as long as the RWD counterpart. And being such a favorite for GM for so long it was a no brainer.
The sad ting is the V8 came a little to late.

The MC and the Impy were actually just the Lumina's..so you just got a rebadged car from what they were.

They are unique performance sedans and coupe. They run with the best of them and yes have drawbacks..but also with some searching through the aftermarket.. we are finding more and more parts every day!

They are unique performance vehicles and i love the look on people's faces when i tell them its a v8 instead of a v6. it takes a very good driver to launch these things (im still working on that lol) but just imagine if it were rwd. i've have been a GM guy for as long as i can remember but they could of at least made the impala stick to its herritage and body line some what instead of changing the whole look and make a coupe option even though they have the monte carlo. the monte carlo still has it's body to some form. as for the gxp i like the sporty look it has. if they make the impala ss again they should make it rwd or awd and add the autostick feature too (the gxp has the tap shift which i think is cool). dont get me wrong guys i love my impala i just hate its limits as far a mods go and it being fwd

Once I had my GXP for a while I was dissappointed in the platform, but after gaining some perspective on this forum I've come to realize these are awesome daily drivers with just enough aftermarket support for a little fun modding. If you want a sports car you can mod until your hearts content there are plenty of 2 door, rear wheel drive cars to choose from. If you need something you can drive to work every day, haul groceries, and strap baby seats in the back these LS4's are your ticket. That being said, some day I want a real sports car like a 2010 Camaro 2SS but plan on still keeping my GXP because I enjoy getting behind the wheel of it every day.

You are on ls1tech.com and you want a mustang GT for your next car..

That way you have a huge aftermarket with a platform that when you buy/install those aftermarket parts it doesn't get much faster.
That makes sense. At least you can say you are modding your car.

everyone is dying for power and there it is. Cartuning Turbo kit. Direct bolt on and make 400whp in a weekend. WAY more if you want to build a trans and turn up the ****. No screwing with 200 bolt ons that still dont get you high 12's. Everyone complains, but when a product is made for them, very few actually step up to the plate.

AGREED!!! The lack of options make the decision making simple, go TURBO.

Sell me the intake and mufflers you just put on!

I had a car I was tuning and running at the track and figured out that wasn't a good idea as a daily driver. I wanted a sedan with some speed and got that. Only thing I'm disapointed in is hearing the tranny problems.

Honestly, if I could've found a Charger R/T for under 15k with less than 40k miles I would've bought that instead. CTS-V, S4, etc. is what I really want when I can afford it.
