Apparently, from what I have read we also own the fastest regular production Impala's produced by Chevy.

I'm sure that's the same for the MC's and GP's too.

Read about it here..

Yep. I found that out recently. I emailed them this past Fall for unlimited access and now they charge a fee for said feature.

It's neat info for sure but I believe that most members grabbed that info when they first caught wind of it this past Summer.

I know I abused the hell out of that site when I found out about it.....running VINs of all my old cars and friend's cars as well.

I'm a fool for low production numbers and obscure options.

If you have the access then please post away. As I stated before I like the lesser known stuff.

I think a cloth seat GXP is awesome...sorta like the 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am anniversary/pace cars. Almost ALL had leather and t-tops. Very few came off the assembly line with the cloth/hardtop combo.

1 of 37. I stopped after that, its probably more rare than that with regard to option combinations.

holy crap, when you run your vin itll break down the rarity of your car. just having or not having a option really makes a big difference. check out what it gave me

There are 4 2006 GRAND PRIX GXP 4 DR vehicles matching your exact options list. There are 37 with at least as many options.

so the car is 1 of 4 made like this, and 1 of 37 made like mine plus other options (im guessing navi and maybe trunk CD changer)

That's not true. I have a Cobalt Red Monte and it is much darker than Victory Red.

This thread should be sticky worthy

Precision red is the same as cobalt. 27U code.

Victory red is lighter I guess... 74U.

Default Badges and Dealer Options

Does anyone knows of dealer options? Different badge packages? Mine says SS Monte Carlo on the side I've seen it before and am wondering where I could find info on that

take your VIN to a dealer... go to a service advisor and tell them you will go buy them a coffee from their favorite coffee place if they print you out the spec sheet from their dealer access GMVIS website. That sheet will tell you if any special factory package is on it.

Otherwise if it doesn't, then someone just bought the extra emblems and stuck them on your car... you are not the first owner after all...

Does anyone know if the color names on the breakdowns are accurate? I have the 2006 Grand Prix brochure, and it only lists Ivory White, Dark Cherry Metallic (GXP and Special Edition models only), Sport Red Metallic, Liquid Silver Metallic, Stealth Gray Metallic, Blue-Green Crystal (Available at extra charge), Black, and Bronzetone Metallic (Not available on GXP models). So that's 8 colors, only 7 of which were available on GXPs. The list above mentions...

06: 6681

* _179 Sport Red (63U)
* _329 Cobalt Red (27U)
* _397 Bermuda Blue (26U)
* _689 White (40U)
* _868 Light Tarnished (Liquid) Silver (67U)
* _913 Stealth Gray (46U)
* 1125 Dark Cherry (77U)
* 2128 Black (41U)
*** 53 short.

So the color names are different, and there's a 2nd red color that doesn't correspond with the brochure.
Ivory White = White
Dark Cherry Metallic = Dark Cherry
Sport Red Metallic = Sport Red
Liquid Silver Metallic = Light Tarnished (Liquid) Silver
Stealth Gray Metallic = Stealth Gray
Blue-Green Crystal = Bermuda Blue
Black = Black
? = Cobalt Red

Any Canadian Buicks? There are no Lacrosse sold in Canada for 08 and 09.

They are badged as Allure.

I have a 08 Allure Super 5.3L in silver. Only seen 2 others.
