Default Will hogan catted downpipe throw a code?

i was looking at getting a new downpipe just to squeeze alittle more power out of the car. i need something with a cat so i was thinking about this http://www.hoganperformance.com/DP7S.htm. it said there is a possibility of throwing a code and i was wondering if anyone had this problem.

and has anyone had any problems changing the cat in terms of inspection and such? im from new york and they really kill us.. thanks

It did for me. Took a few startups but eventually the light came on.

yeah i was reading reviews and it seems that its really up in the air if you will get a code or not. if it does throw one would i have to buy a diablo tuner or something like that to get rid of it?

First time with the downpipe it took about a month before it came on. Took it back off because when the code is thrown it disabled the remote start and I needed it for winter. After headers installed I put it back on and threw the code right away. Didn't matter though because I'm going to have it dyno tuned and have the code turned off.

So, for those that did get the code, how do you "fix" it without getting a tune?

o2 simulator would work, I think there was a thread about this a while ago. I put a sim on my 02MCSS and it turned off the CEL.

It's probably a "catalyst low efficiency code" triggered by the rear O2, it's pretty standard...yeah.

One more time...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls4-front...ks-so-far.html

F.Y.I., The Diablo will only clear the code, but it will come right back. The only way you can remove the code with a Diablo is if you get a custom tune. Lew (06monteSS) can do one for you for about $50.
