I did similar, but I paid through Fichtner chevrolet, after learning about them on the forums.

72 months 0 deductible till 2014 or 48k miles(GMPP bumper to bumper),

$795

The only thing was you had to pay it all at once.

Are you sure it's "bumper to bumper?" Read your GMPP agreement correctly.

Only thing they don't cover is wear items. Tire, Brake Pad, carpet wear, Wipers, bulbs.
All items engine trans electrical suspension covered.

IIRC, struts, which are a part of the suspension, are not covered. Also, nothing trim related is covered either. Not a true bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Thing that sucks is, GM won't cover beyond 100k miles anymore. If they did, I'd extend, too. We put 30k miles per year on our Impala, and we're at 62,000 now. Our 5 year/100k miles GM Certified Used warranty is up this November, so we're not sure what we're gonna do. Kinda scary, especially after getting the trans rebuilt at the dealer last month.

That's an AMAZING deal, I think. I might have to look them up.

I just had a strut replaced under warranty. I HOPE to hell it was covered, GM prices + GM shop prices would probably approach 550 bucks.
I replaced the other side on my own, it was less than 250 for the GM Parts Direct strut and 80 labor at an independent shop

And this was under your 3 year/36,000 mile warranty? Or a GMPP extended warranty? IIRC, the GMPP brochure/manual clearly states that struts are not covered (sucks, I know).

No, this was under the extended. Inservice 3/36 ran out Feb 28.

It IS possible they did it as a courtesy, since the car had been in there six times to get the AM working. The nav is still a moron. Foreverlost I call it.

But I did have a GM case manager keeping tabs on the dealer, and I suppose if there's flexibility there they could have done it to keep GM off their backs. But GM has to pay, or GMPP or whoever.

Will have to dig up the extended and read it, I guess.

My SS is still under the original 3/36 bumper to bumper until this November (car titled 11/2007) and I've only got 26k on the odometer...I priced out a couple of the GM extended warranties and have not found any under $1,000 for 3-4 years. I only drive about 6k per year, so the time is more important than the mileage to me...Any suggestions?

EDIT - just called my local dealer - After I told him I was quoted $1,125 from another dealer, he quoted me $1,150(?) for a 36 month/24,000 mile Major Guard warranty, but said it had to be paid in full at time of purchase...Why the conflicitng prices & purchasing methods if they are all the same GM warranty?

So Mel, having the headers and all of your mods won't void your extended warranty?

E-mailed him and got a quote of $1175 for a 36 month/24,000 mile Major Guard Warranty (w/$50 deductable). My local dealer quoted me $1150 and Greg Bell quoted me $1125 for the same warranty...I'll continuje to shop until I find the best deal. BTW - I have not seen a GM warranty with a $0 deductible option...
