I may stand corrected, but I've heard of only 1 gp gxp that went 13.6, and i think it had cai. there has been countless 13.6's in a g8 gt in pure stock form.

This is a video from a forum member here, but I shows how effortless the g8 smashed the grand prix gxp. i know the g8 is tuned, but even untuned the g8 would have won by a lot.

if the G8 is bone stock and the GXP has a bolt on or two, its a drivers race. but then again every car is different, if you take every bone stock G8 and race them there not gonna all be perfectly even.

Im my mind, the average G8 and driver and the average GXP and driver should be an easy win for the G8. Obviously the driver mod is the biggest factor regardless. And roll racing shouldn't be the comparison here, it should be from a dig, to a 1/4 mile.

to my knowledge the car your talking about only had a headlight removed, but as everyone has said on here the g8 should win and on the street its a drivers race. id have to assume its a hell of alot easier to launch a g8 than it is to launch an ls4 car.

true, when i raced the stock G8 we launched about the same , i might have even launched better, im sure the G8 with better tires would kill me off the line, but on stock tires, idk.

there have been 2 or 3 (with headlight removed at most) on the boards back in the day that did it, i know of 2 other locals that have done it with no mods, but its not the norm because they were done with perfect conditions they would average 13.7s or 13.8s.

The G8 really takes over when the LS4 shifts into 2nd gear.

Who cares about driver mod? I don't want to drive a Metro even if I just beat a Corvette that spun through the first 3 gears. Comparing cars to cars driver mod goes out the window.

thats kinda taking it a little too far tho, the GXP is almost on par with the G8 in stock form. and just like stated above, driver mod is the best mod.

The G8 has a 6L80 6-speed auto with i believe 2.93 gears. I'm not trying to **** anyone off or say it didn't happen guys, all I'm sayin is it should be no contest for the G8 unless it's a horrible driver. I think we've established that. If you race a guy and lose tho, why are we even talking about it? I understand it was closer than expected but it shouldn't have been. I also understand people posting kills on here but if it was a fluke then idk if it's anything to be bragging about. If you race the same guy 10 times and win 1, does that mean your car is faster or better? If you know you probably should of lost but you won in error I wouldn't be bragging about it. Thats just me.

i agree with you but its a street race, if you pull a car on someone in a "faster" car that "should" win you still beat it, i raced a bone stock one once and pulled a car on it, i was expecting to get walked, its not like he totally messed up, he had another passenger, so with all factors and it being a "street race" i still got the kill.

im surprised they dont have any gearing in them. regardless human error is a huge factor in any type of racing. if that wasnt the case no one would bother running there car we would all just go by the magazine and factory times and call it a day? we would all just compare times and say **** it that car runs a better time its going to beat me 9 out of 10 times. in a street race the faster car doesnt always win, and why not discuss a loss thats the whole point of a forum. discussion and debate.

My point is that I could care less if I win a race because the other driver sucked. Going to the track and all that's fun, but 99% of my driving is not racing. Therefore all that matters to me is the butt dyno. I do some "spirited" driving racing or not. So when I look at cars and compare I erase the driver mod because I look at it as if I were driving each car.

I would not be afraid lined up against a bone stock G8 GT. Excited? Yes. I wouldn't blow him away but I would definitely surprise him. Then again, I'm not exactly stock.
