Default drove through rivers today

So when i got off work it was pouring cats and dogs and i had to go to the hospital to get my gf so she could follow me home. this wasnt no usual storm. i didnt see one road that didnt have water on it. i had to drive through a foot and a half of water several times and my gf said that she couldnt even see my exhaust it was so deep. it usually takes me about 15 min to get home and today it took an hour and a half to try to find roads that werent up to my windows with water. some crazy ****.

anyway my engine sounded like it was boggin up when i was going through all this ****. is there anything i should check or be worried about?

dont run it for a few days and let it dry out. Replace the filter probally. I started my srt-4 that was in a flood and it turned on and ran but they it cracked the turbo.

i was scared shitless that something was going to happen. there was one spot where i went through and the water was up to my license plate in the front. it just pisses me off that there was no possible way to get home without having to go through that.

Honestly, you should be fine. I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Just let everything dry out. I drive in the rain and through big puddles all of the time. In fact It's supposed to rain for the next 2 weeks!

You could reach under my front bumper of my GTI and touch my filter from my intake. When we got rain and I was in that car I would disconnect the piping at the MAF and pray nothing bad happened. Either that or park it when possible. That filter would get very wet at times, but as far as I heard that as long as it wasn't submerged there shouldn't be an issue. Granted my little 1.8 wasn't sucking in the same air probably.

My nav puts me right in the middle of rivers all the time.

I prefer using my Garmin when I need to know, for some reason.

Drove my RX-7 through some deep water and it was fine. I'm surprised it didn't come in the doors it was so high.
