I use 2 stroke marine oil. It has to be twc3 rated though. It is blue. I use 1 oz. for every 5 gallons of gas. I run no cat so this solves the exhaust odor, keeps the top end lubricated and my ringpacks clean. It raises the btu content of the gas so it gets a better burn too. I have been running this for about 8 months now and only see benefits. I also get a bit better gas milage using this by .2 mpg.

me too! I run it in my 2000 SS. The idle is even a little smoother!

No prob

The SuperTech one from Wal-Mart works just as fine as the Synthetic one I spent $26 on. So no need to go big.

I usually use the Pennzoil or Havoline from Advanced Auto. It's either 4.69 or 5.69 per quart and a quart lasts 2 months or so for me. Plus, it is much, much cheaper than all of the other products "supposidly made" to do the same.

Do you use it in the 07?

Techron whenever I can't fill up at a Chevron or Exxon. And I only use the stuff once every 3 months or so.

I tried SeaFoam once and it seemed to do a "better" job. I run 87 octane pretty much all of time and I guess it's all relative. If you're running 93 or 91, I wouldn't be too worried with fuel treatments.

YMMV

I don't run it in the 07. I should, but due to the fact I don't drive it often, I just use it in the DD.

Seafoam in the crankcase 1 week before oil change and the rest of the can through the PB vacuum hose with the engine running. In the tank I use seafoam after each oil change. My tb is dirty and my intake is soaked with oil. I just added a qt with 50% oil life.

I had no idea so many people used fuel treatment. I was taught that if you quality fuel (and good oil), you don't need that stuff.

I'm not knocking anyone who does use additives, just sharing what I've learned.

Anyone have links to independent tests of these things? I am open-minded about trying stuff if it will make the car run better.

The best thing to do is give it a try. I was very skeptical at first too but the car seemed to like the stuff so I just keep adding it in. I use 1 oz. for every 5 gallons of gas. I use a turkey baster to put the stuff in the gas tank. It does work well. Plus it's very cheap.

I'll do some research on this and maybe give it a shot.

I buy the 1 gallon jug... it lasts a while, even with using 1 oz per every 4 or 5 gallons of gas, in both vehicles...

Lew,

Remeber that HUGE post on ls1.com? It was an old guy that worked 50 yrs. for Chevron that started the thread. It had 100 plus pages on it. I can't find it. He was the one that swayed my opinion and he did real world testing on it for over 100,000 plus miles. Do you have a link to it?

I use it at every fill up too. 3 to 4 oz per tank.
