Default Oil filter of choice??

Hi guys getting ready to change my oil for the first time on my gxp. I already bought some mobil 1 and was wondering what the oil filter of choice is around here?? Is the standard acdelco the consensus?? If so do they make a longer one like other motors to get a little more oil in there?? If not what do you guys use?? Thanks Jeff

I've always used Mobil 1 oil and filter...thought I read something about Mobil 1 filters but haven't had any issues in the last six cars I've used Mobil 1 on. Then again I can't keep a car long enough to see if any adverse effects come out of it lol.

I stopped using AC Delcos because they cheapened them up. They used to be one of the best filters, (and the only thing I used as a GM service tech), now they aren't any better than parts store cheapies in my opinion. I have done some research and now use napa gold filters. They seem to be a nice filter for a reasonable price.
But to be honest, they all are probably just fine, even the Delcos

I run AC Delco, though I used to use K&N on my LS1 cars.

The cool thing is, I can use the same PF52 filters in both my SS and my GN. And since I bought a couple of cases of the "old style" PF52s about 6 years ago, I don't have to worry about the new "cheapie" AC Delco design that we're stuck with today.
