Default Where do I start?

Just bought me a 2008 Chevrolet Impala SS, looking to beef the sound up but not looking to spend a whole lot of money right now. I just want some throat, no over kill. What are some other cheap mods i can do to this car the will boost the power, like a chip, or cold air intake. Help me out, I am new to this forum and a car i want to make faster.

u can get mufflers and take off ur resonator if u dont want a really loud car. Thrush welded mufflers are good mufflers and cheap. u can get them at pepboys or advance auto parts. go on youtube and check out the sound. u can also get a K&N cold air intake and get the car tuned for better performance

I say go for a cutout. They are like $170ish and it makes your car sound amazing. But it all depends on where you put it.

What exactly does the cutout do? I also live in Buffalo and don't want to worry about any inspection issues...thanks

In a nutshell, it makes your exhaust louder or quieter with the flick of a switch. As long as the cutout is placed after the cat you are OK as far as inspection goes.

Take off the Muffs, and keep the res in place...Ls1 racing did that to his Impy, and it sounds pretty good...There a little rasp but not a lot,or you can save your dough up and get sum headers

The first thing I did to the car was a tune and K&N. According to the G-tech knocked 1/2 second off the 1/4 mile. Defiantly worth the bang for the buck. I like the sound of the muffler delete cars, just my 2 cents.
