Sunday it's all done...
JW,
I went with 35% on all the windows because of my state's tint laws. I have a dark interior so it should look good. I am quite stoked about the car. It friggin' screws... I cannot say enough good things about Triple Edge Performance. It did take awhile to get the trans. but it was WELL worth the wait. I think the trans. itself shaved a couple tenths off just by the way it now shifts and performs. It's like night and day. If anyone need a re-build this IS the guy to have do the trans. The highest temp. so far for the trans. is 161 degrees. I do have two coolers along with a finned aluminum pan and that is the result. The same set-up with my old trans. was about 228 degrees on a day like today (humid 85 - 90* day). This proves I had a bad Torque converter from the get go on my first re-build. I can't wait till the end of summer, early fall to get my first N/A in the 12's timeslip. Thanks for all compliments guys. Gee, can ya tell I am happy? lol....

3rd is great now. No more lag in 3rd. I also have the Z-PAck for my 3rd gear clutches. Don't know if that makes a difference or not but they are much more durable. With the 3.29's it shifts out of first sooner than before. You can correct that with raising the part throttle shifts up, but I like how it is now. I really like the 3.29's better than the stock 2.93's. I think you would too.

No my first rebuild was by a local guy here in MA. I will never ever go that route again. TEP is now the only way I will go if this one ever ***** the bed. Dave knows his stuff and the shifts are so smooth. I haven't tried tap-shift yet with the new trans. With the way it shifts it's almost not needed. I am an extremely happy customer. In my opinion he is hands down the best 4t65e transmission builder in the country. I know that is a big statement but it's just my opinion. I'd buy one of his over ZZP, Intense, PATC, ect...or any other aftermarket builder.

Mike;
Just wondering what you did with this "rebuild" of your tranny you are talking about. I'm interested in doing something similiar, especially since I am adding an LS6 intake and a cam, and the way you went sounds quite interesting.
I've been on TEP's website and found a $209 Master Kit w/Z-Pack (and you mentioned the Z-Pack you did on yours), so wondering if this is what you did?? Or was it a different, more extensive route you went? Also, if you don't mind my asking, what did the conversion to the 3.29's cost you??
Thanx,
Scott
It depends on the chain you use. That will determine how much it will cost. I used a Gemini V-8 chain so my upgrade was free. If you go the 7/8ths chain it will be 350.00 or more. I went with the master rebuild kit with the Z-Pack for added insurance. I hardly ever race but I certainly do not want trouble down the road. This is why I went with a Z-Pack. Here look at this...

Scroll down to the 3rd transmission. This is what I went with with a few extras. I also went with a Precision re-man t. conv. with stock stall. Works great!!!

I will probably go to the track once the trans. is broken in. Probably by the beginning of Sept. since the weather may be in my favor.
I'll get some pics up soon. I promise.

Take that bad dude to the track and get us some numbers!
Update:
Today it was between 93 - 96 degrees (f) and my car hit a high trans. temp of 168*. It was also extrememly humid outside. This was with an hour ride on the highway and another 15 minute ride to get to my destination. Not too bad....
