Default Ran a new ss with dad in the car

on the freeway today let a ss catch up to me and ran him quick.

he jumped on me about a car length before i hammered it, i downshifted to second an rode it out, he had about three lengths at me by the time we were done.

just a quick 55-95 i might have scared him a little if he would not have had such a big jump because i was not super far behind. plus he had nobody in the car.

i still feel these ls4 cars deserve some respect i love the thing, cheers boys

55 probably isn't the best roll, either. I know it's not in my MCSS. If I can't get into 1st, I can't really do anything productive again until 60+.

I've been wanting to run one VERY bad. I'm jealous that you got a crack at it.

yeah that two cars is easily accounted for between the extra 200 lbs in my front seat the camaros extra 100ish hp and the 6 gears it has

You realize the Camaro weighs about 150 lbs more than the GXP to start with right?

Actually, a manual SS weighs over 200 lbs more than the GXP.

Curb weight LS auto: 3,769 lb (1,710 kg)
LS man: 3,780 lb (1,710 kg)
LT auto: 3,750 lb (1,700 kg)
LT man: 3,741 lb (1,697 kg) SS auto: 3,913 lb (1,775 kg)
SS man: 3,860 lb (1,750 kg)

yeah without looking it up i remember them being like 3900-4000 or something like that

im not saying i would have won or anything i just think the car held up admirably considering the circumstances

New Camaro SS 3860lbs per Edmunds
Grand Prix GXP 3600lbs per Edmunds & a local truck scale.

There were some new Camaro SSs at the track only running high 13s. I didn't have my GXP with me or I would of loved to run against one. My son was out there eating up those new SS Camaros with his stock 2000 Camaro SS 6 speed with almost 80k miles on it.

The 2000 Camaro SS has run a few 13.1s but most of the runs are 13.3 to 13.4. Having a hard time getting better than a 2.2 60ft.

I wouldnt even dare run my old mans 2010 2SS. Hes got just a little over 4k into it right now in engine/exhaust mods. Full length Headers,(custom built), full 3in exhaust(custom built), Air-raid CAI, Hurst short throw shifter, Dyno Tune with RDP's touch of magic to make the car 528HP at the crank all N/A. Yeah its pretty nasty, sounds like a ******* NASCAR. Anyways, i still tell him, well, if only i had a car-tuning turbo kit, i probably would smoke you. lol. BUt i dont ...lol.......

I've been dieing to race a RS Camaro, just so i can **** them off...

However, i dont think my GXP is to healthy lately. I pulled out of a parking lot the other day just ******* around, and at like 15MPH i turn the trac off, and punched it. She was like screaming for about 2 secs, then went, in LIMP mode then, back to screaming mode? WTF? To much Knock? Or something else, and this isnt the first time its dont this either.....

Anyways, i dont go WOT in it to much actually and it now has 48,407miles on it....

So how did you measure the HP at the crank? Even if that's right, there's no way he got 100 horses out of i/e/t. The 2010s are only seing maybe 11 horses from headers and a tune (from what I've seen personally). I'm not saying you're lying, but maybe he has more done or you're not telling us everything. The LS3 puts out 420 stock....

What your car is doing is normal, it's what's called differential anti-score kicking in.

SOunds like with that number he has a cam too. only way possible really.

528*.85=449rwhp.

would be a small cam at that

Let's say he picked up 50hp off intake and exhaust...and that's VERY conservative...(Superchips' car made 11 hp with LTs and a tune) That's ANOTHER 50 hp with only a cam...

Yeah,

I'd have to call RDP Racing in Painesville Ohio and ask the "crazy Aussie" who owns it everything that was done to the car. 410HP to the rear Wheels, check the website below, and see that it is on the dyno. My old mans car on the bottom left youtube video. The blue with white stripes..

I will tell you I personally drove the car, and the only other car i can say that its comperable to it, was a 2001 Dodge Viper GTS. That fuggin car is nasty, and my old mans Camaro is sick. But i hear ya all, I'm gonna look into it.

I believe the camaro has 4 cats so they were probably taken off to help with the hp gains.
