Default How to change Power steering fluid??

I got my oil change at the dealer yesterday they suggested I get my power steering fluid changed. Is this fairly easy to empty the old stuff and put in the new stuff?? They wanted 150 to do it so with that priceline I figured it couldnt be too bad to do since they wernt charging a whole lot. I have noticed a little noice in the steering so was thinking about doin it anyways. So is there a drain system on the power steering or how do you get the old stuff out? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff

The power steering fluid doesn't need to be changed, they are just trying to make money off you. I have never done that to any of my cars in the 30 years I've been driving and never had any issues. If anything you should have the trans fluid changed, that is a requirement and should be done around 50,000 miles.

I'm sure you lose a little if you change the recalled hoses.

yeah right. My fluid smells burned and was dark as FUHK. Only 40K I don't get it Pulled my pump when I pulled my front cover to swap cams. Big mess. wow!
Tranny fluid yes. I changed mine when I did my shift kit at 28K and it was super dark and the pan was caked with grit. If I would have waited any longer then good by trans!

Well I've never changed power steering fluid in my life, but if I was going to do it. I'd undo one of the lines on the rack to drain it?

When I changed mine I took a suction pump to it, doesn't get all the fluid but if you do it enough times its just as good
