Default HUD Problem, Need Help...

Hey guys,

To make a long story short I have a problem with my HUD. It almost looks like it came off track. I think a spring may have come off or something...? I know it still works because when I tap the dash it comes back down then immediately goes right back up. Very strange, indeed... So, how do I take the HUD off. What comes off first. From the looks of it, I think the pillars come off and then? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Homeys...

You might have to take the top deck of the dash off in order to gain access to the HUD. Just a thought... I have a small vibration in mine when I go over bumps. It's nothing major it's just annoying as hell . I might try and solve the problem this Sunday.

Actually, after reading the threads, it seems pretty straight forward.

I just hope you don't have that "super screw" behind the cluster.

I did have a screw behind the cluster. I got done about half hour ago and I started at 11:00 am taking many breaks. The worst part was the sensors near the windshield. The big round one is the worst! I didn't know that the round protrusion was a cap and that dropped somewhere inside the dash. I said "oh well" looks like it is staying there. lol... I am not sure what sensor it is. It isn't the little red LED one it's the other one.

Other than that lil' mishap it wasn't too bad of a job. I didn't get a plastic washer like they said to. I took a little holder off and put the other end of the spring under that and screwed it back down. Doing it this way insures it will not break ever again. At least that piece won't... The HUD now works like it should.

On a side note; anyone know what that sensor is and where I can find another one? Thanks for all the help.

It's the light sensor. The little red LED is the theft deterrent.
