Question What about this? Manual cutout

http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/30862/10002/-1

okay..here is the thing..its clearance thats the issue where I live. where my cutout is if I put the electric on it would be torn off in a drive. Right now if I have a full car it almost hits without the electric part on there. So with one on I am screwed. There is no way I could get the elctric on there unless I go and bash the metal to get it to fit..

Was looking at this manual cutout. As long as I keep the flange operable it should be fine.

The pro's. The clearance is what I need. Its cheaper and it still works to open and close my exhaust.

the cons. its not electric. and could get stuck open or close if its not hit with some lube.

Now question. Where would you mount this button if it was your car??

$70 for shipping to Canada and $100 worldwide?!?!?! what a rip off... Go with QTP because all cutouts are not created equal. Be forewarned of rusting with other no name brands.

The Jegs cutout doesn't look very efficient and might be tough to open since it opens into exhaust flow.

All exhaust parts are going to rust sooner or later.

my summit racing cutout for $30 has yet to rust, and my freind had a QTP on his LS1 and the inside of it had some excess metal which looked like it will mess with flow a little bit, the summit is smooth.

If the exhaust is steel then it will rust really soon. But stainless steel doesn't rust as easily. This is why stainless costs more than regular steel. If you want a good quality cutout or any other exhaust piping for that matter, go SL.

see guys I already have that. I have it up right after the Cat. (Mandatory in MA.) So its in a place where its hard to get under. I do get under to cap it but just want the ease of pulling the wire and boom its capped.

And it looks like this is something that has to be turned off or on when the cars not running.

Yeah I have the oval low profile cutout from QTP. Only sits maybe .5-1" lower that the exhaust. But it all depends on where it's placed.

just an FYI I have a cutout on now. Its not the pipe its the electric motor the exhaust tunnel does not have enough room to let it fit snug in there. It really exposes the motor to the open ground.

let me show you where my cutout is right now.

Looks like there is clearance but there is not

This is the best pic. to show you want I mean. With the angle I lost about an inch of cleance. When I put the electric one on. The motor was sticking down way to much to the point that it was almost hanging down. To dangerous to getting hit. We tried a lot of ways but it just did not fit. Losing 2" of ground is not an option.

you know the faster the exhaust gets out of the pipe the better..so the further down the less effective it is..
